The Importance of Prayer

Prayer is not a certain sound, and you don’t need to use the King’s English when you pray, be in a particular position, or spot. Some people feel they have to have a flowery prayer, Jesus didn’t. His prayers were short, sweet, and to the point.

Prayer was paid for you by the Blood of Jesus at the cross. It is a privilege for you to pray. Prayer is very much needed as a part of the Christian life. According to the Bible, we are in a battle (Ephesians 6:10) and we can’t do it without God’s help. When we don’t pray, then we aren’t in full preparation for the battle. If Jesus needed to pray, how much more do we need to pray?

Prayer will keep us from sin. It is during prayer that God will show us where we need to go, and Christians feel it is true. We are instructed to pray for the lost, (Matthew 9:37-38, Romans 10:1). We are to pray for
boldness according to Timothy 1:7-8, as well as pray for our needs, Philippians 4:6, Acts 17:30. There are some hindrances to prayer such as sin, selfishness, and doubt, James 1:6 Mark 9:24; pride Luke 18:14, James 4:6; Poor husband and wife relationships Matthew 5:23-24, and 1 Peter 3:7. Prayer is a most powerful tool, and every Christian ought to pray as the Bible tells us.
