Common Prayers

There are a number of common prayers. What constitutes a common prayer can vary widely from person to person based on personal religious believes or lack thereof. Most people pray in time of need. Many others do it as a thankful message.

For the Catholic religion, some of the most common prayers are the rosary and the 23rd psalm. Our Father and the Hail Mary are two others that are quite common in the religion. Chanting is a form of prayer as well and common to certain religions. The purpose of prayer for most is to have open communication with a higher power, be it going by the name of God or another name. Some people find making their prayer is sufficient for them. Many will pray for money to pay bills, to win the lottery or to have enough food on the table. Others will pray for work and material things. All of those are common prayers and prayer topics amongst the masses of people who believe or practice regular prayer.

In the face of more pressure and declining economic times, prayer in general is becoming more commonplace. People are looking for anything to believe in these days and prayer tends to make them feel like they are doing something to make things better in their lives. Prayer has brought about a rise in religious beliefs as well as regular practice of prayer. The economic times are on the minds of all and tends to be the most common prayer of all. Praying for better finances, a job or more money in general is the most common prayer of all these days.
