Attitude has a lot to do with prayer. God answers prayer when you are sincere in your heart. A heartfelt prayer will get God's attention. An example in the Bible, God's Holy Word, where attitude made all the difference is seen in Acts 16:23-36. Paul and Silas were cast into prison and their feet put into stocks. At midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God; and the prisoners heard them. God caused a great earthquake that opened the doors of the prison and loosened the bands on their feet. But instead of fleeing Paul and Silas remained inside the prison walls. And because of this act on the part of Paul and Silas the guard and others came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. As you see in this illustration it was all about their attitude.
The intent behind the prayer determines the outcome of the prayer. If you are praying out of anger or a prayer that is cold; no feeling, just a form of prayer, God does not hear this type of prayer. You would be just as well off not even attempting to pray with a wrong motive. God first and foremost looks upon the intent of the heart.
Having a thankful attitude and praying with gratitude will result in getting your prayers answered. Prayer definitely influences your attitude toward God and will cause you to walk a closer walk with God. Your spiritual life will take on new meaning.
