Setting Prayer Goals

To be able to reach prayer goals we should be specific about what we are asking from God. God has told His people to humble themselves and ask of Him what we want. We need to focus our thoughts on requests that will be according to His will. These prayers can be done individually or as a group. The Bible tells us when two or more are in agreement, then prayer will be received.

One way to really make our prayers seem real is to visualize our request. Picture in our mind that what we are praying for is being accomplished. This process really adds depth to our prayer goal. Pray expecting our request to be granted. This positive attitude has an influence on our prayer life. If we pray believing God will answer, then it strengthens our ability to pray passionately and pray often.

Asking for prayer needs is only a part of prayer goals. We need to thank God for all that He has already given us, and at the same time ask for forgiveness of our sins. We should prepare ourselves to come to God in this way. Now we are ready to ask for what we feel we need, either for ourselves or others.

God wants to have a personal relationship with us. Our prayers can actually be a conversation with God. We know He listens and gives us messages about what He wants us to do with our lives. This relationship should give us a feeling that our prayer goals are reached. Live your life as though your prayer goals have been answered.
