Love is any emotion one feels connected to the affection or attachment to another. There are many types of love, as well. For example, you love your mother in a different way than you do your best friend, child, or significant other, all of whom you may feel strong love for. There are different reasons as to why you love each person in your life. Another example would be as you tell someone of your favorite restaurant and say "I love the steak dinner there." You experience a strong feeling for the taste of the meal and that in itself becomes love.
Love isn't just something we feel. It is just as much something we do. We show our love to others. We express love when we hold our babies and comfort them as they take a bottle or fall asleep. We give love to strangers in the grocery store as we make our way over to help them up from a fall. When you hug and kiss those nearest your heart, it is body language for "I love you." Even when we pet or embrace an animal we are expressing an act of love.
Sometimes, as life can take us down many roads, we forget to show others love. Unfortunately, some forget how to or they haven't been shown how to express this in a healthy fashion. It is the easiest thing in the world to do and the most natural emotion we feel. The bonus to giving love to others is that it makes us feel good to do so. It builds our spirits, as well as the others'. To love better, base your relationships with others on healthy things. They will last longer if both people feel loved.
