The Sources Of Genuine Laughter

Doesn't it feel great to laugh? Your entire body becomes engaged. The brain produces the chemical dopamine and you can even cry you laugh so hard.

Laughter reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, lowers your heart rate and massages your entire body. In other words, all parts of your body benefit from laughter. Daily laughter is shown to reduce sickness at work up to 50%. So what is it that makes us laugh? It can be having a conversation with certain people or reading a book, listening to a program on the radio or watching a television program. If we can laugh at ourselves or have a laugh with a good friend, that's a great start. Maybe it was an comfortable situation you were in and once it was over, you had to laugh. A good comedian can bring a memory to your funny bone through their story about every day living. When you laugh, it takes 15 face muscles. That is less than frowning, so you benefit right there! Everyone has something a little different that makes them laugh. You meet someone with a similar sense of humor and then it would seem the two of you never stop laughing.

Try and read a humorous book. Stop at the library and see what's in the humor section. Watch a funny movie. Try watching “America’ Funniest Home Videos” on television. There are comedy channels on television and radio. Rent a funny movie or watch one of your favorites from your library. It's said that laughter came before the development of language. So make yourself smile and see if you can find a laugh today.
