Selflessness

The definition of selflessness is the quality of unselfish concern for the welfare of others. Selflessness means acting with less concern for yourself and more for others. The opposite of selflessness is selfishness. This means a person cares only for themselves and doesn't think about how their actions will harm others.

All spiritual experiences are based in the brain. According to the University of Missouri, neuropsychological studies have evidence that support the neuropsychological model. The purposes of selflessness and spiritual experience are related to lessened activity in the right parietal lobe of the brain. Researchers say that the implication of this connection may mean more discipline in people involved in health care or religion.

Buddhism is the practice and cultivation of the realization of interdependence and selflessness. A dynamic insight into how we create the illusion of an unchanging and separate self. All beings have the capacity for individual compassion and love. In Buddhism, selflessness is the opposition between others and themselves. It claims that they are very distinct from others, and selfishness is part of the root cause of our suffering. Buddhism tries to encourage us to focus on compassion and love for others. Buddhism as a religion tries to focuses on kindness and selflessness toward others. These peaceful studies can help us learn different ways to attain selflessness. There are many ways to experience transcendence and one way is to help others as well as help ourselves.
