In Christ’s teaching, he provides us all with the ability to love unconditionally our family, friends, and others who cross our path each day. The love we have for God should be the same love we feel for others. We should extend our love of neighbor to go beyond the boundaries of social status, character weaknesses, and religious, racial, ethnic, and citizenship differences.
When our love for others is threatened, we feel consumed with anger and hatred. Our feelings of anger are based on misconception of what may have been said or done. We should always forgive and forget. Holding grudges and bitterness toward others will only distance our love for one another. Forgiveness is important or else it will cloud our hearts, cause resentment towards others, and affect our relationship with God. We are gifted with things to share with others regardless of the form of friendship. When we do things for others, we are enriched with a true feeling of satisfaction and our lives have more worth.
What is important in our lives is that we have love for God and for one another. Money, status, and power are of no importance in the kingdom of God. When we can truthfully and beyond doubt love everyone each day, our love of neighbor and that for God will allow our hearts to have peace and tranquility. If we wish to find precious love for God, then we will need to love others as well.
