Short Daily Prayer
Many people lead very hectic lives in this day and age, and they may
not take the necessary time to nurture their spiritual sides. For many,
trying to fit prayer somewhere between family, work, and other chores
is incredibly difficult. In such cases, a short daily prayer
can help strengthen your spiritual side without interfering with other
priorities. Since the inclusion of prayer in your daily routine will
help you gain perspective on the meaning of life, knowing some morning and evening prayers will encourage your spiritual growth.
First and foremost, it's important to remember what St. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 which was "pray always." In all actions, we should be offering thanks.
These perpetual prayers of gratitude can easily be forgotten during a
busy day. Because of this, many people find that saying a short daily
prayer in the morning helps to set the stage for a positive day. Before heading out into the world, many find comfort in simply acknowledging that "the Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want"
(Psalm 22). This morning prayer reminds you that God will provide what
is necessary, and there's no reason to fear or covet. Additionally,
Psalm 90, "Lord, teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of the heart," also helps start the day off with the right perspective.
Once you have survived another day, it's also good to say a short evening prayer. Praying in the evening helps to unwind daily stress and provide inspirational reflections
on how tomorrow can be an even better day. As found within Psalm 27,
asking God for guidance in your daily life will help you to to improve
your spirituality and give you clear answers as to how to live your
life. After the day is through, pray "one thing I ask of the Lord; this I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life." With this prayer, you can end the day with a peaceful rest and renewal for the coming morning.
If
you make room in your schedule for a short daily prayer, you will begin
to see positive results. Prayers said in the morning help you to
prepare for the day, and evening prayers help you to reflect and
increase your spiritual bond. For more daily guidance regarding prayer
